Originally published in 1912, a classic tale of science fiction adventure, The Lost world continues to captivate its readers even today. It is a story of discovery on an unusual and exciting journey set in a plateau in the Amazon basin of South America. The story begins with Edward Malone, a young reporter for the Daily Gazette, asking his editor for a dangerous assignment to impress the woman he loves, Gladys. He is given the task of approaching the notorious Professor Challenger who is a strange and brilliant paleontologist claimed to have found dinosaurs who still alive deep in the Amazon. Professor Challenger dislikes the popular press intensely and physically assaults intrusive journalists.
