This is a second volume for the Basic Applied Mathematics course for Advanced Level Secondary Schools. It is aimed at the Form Six Students not pursuing advanced mathematics. The last five chapters for the Basic Applied Mathematics covers: probability, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, matrices and linear programming. This Book seeks
to demonstrate real life application of the mathematical theories for example: application of probability in research, business planning and gaming; application of trigonometry in measuring difficult distances and music; application of exponential and logarithmic functions in compound interest problems, population growth and rate of loss of temperature of bodies; use of matrices in solving systems of linear equations and optimization of use of scarce resources through use of linear programming.
The Book applies the competence based approach that seeks to actively engage the student during the teaching and learning process.
