General Geography in Diagrams deals with the biophysical environment of man and his inter- action with it.
This book comprises the full text of the metric edition of the author's Physical Geography in Diagrams with a complete section on human geography.
The first part of the book discusses the processes involved in the formation of man's physical environment, and it describes all the important features produced by these processes. Diagrams, maps and photographs, are extensively used to help explain the nature of these processes, and the characteristics of the features produced by them.
The second part of the book discusses the ways in which man uses his biophysical environment and this part deals with the salient aspects of man's agricultural and industrial activities, his communi- cations and trade, and his settlement patterns. As in the first part, extensive use is made of a variety of illustrations, especially maps, graphs and photographs. Th.:J book is concluded by a dis- cussion of the conflicts arising out of man's inter- action with his biophysical environment, and it suggests ways by which conflicts with the environment can be considerably reduced.
