About Dan Brockington

Dan Brockington is co-Director of Institute for Global Sustainable Development. Trained as an anthropologist in UCL, he has worked at UCL, and the Universities of Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester. Dan specializes in undertaking long-term fieldwork in East Africa, where he lives in remote locations and with rural communities for periods of one to two years. This can be tough work, requiring language training and living without many normal comforts. But it is about as rewarding as it can get. He has been fortunate to undertake three such studies in his career.
