This book covers the requirements of the current 2020 Social Studies syllabus for Tanzanian primary schools. It focuses on the three main syllabus competences, which are: Identifying the principles of patriotism in the society; Applying the knowledge of maps and astronomy to daily life; and Applying economic principles in income generating activities. This book contains many exercises and activities that will keep the pupils engaged throughout their learning time. These will enable teachers and parents/guardians to evaluate the pupils’ understanding of the content and assist them in any areas where they may still be facing difficulties.
Like the other similar books in this series (Social Studies Book 3, 4, 5 and 6), this book is written using the competence-based approach which is the modern method of teaching and learning.
