This book is intended to fill the gap caused by lack of comprehensive History textbooks that cover Advanced Level History as required by the Tanzanian syllabus of 2010. It is written to give the History students and other learners a comprehensive and detailed analysis of global historical events and their effects on Africa and the world at large.
The book covers the following issues: the rise of capitalism; the rise of democracy in Europe; imperialism, territorial division and acquisition around the world; the rise of dictatorship in Germany, Italy and Japan; the rise of USA as a capitalist power; the rise of socialism; threats to world peace; as well as neo-colonialism and its impact on the development of third world countries.
